New Frontier: Teen Dating Violence & Healthy Relationships

Home / Educational Services / New Frontier: Teen Dating Violence & Healthy Relationships

The state of NJ recently passed a law to help address the prevalence of dating violence and the issues surrounding forming healthy relationships. One out of four adolescents report physical, emotional, or sexual abuse from a dating partner. Unhealthy, abusive, or violent relationships can cause both short-term and long-term effects, including poor school performance, substance abuse, depression and anxiety and suicide attempts. The law requires schools to address these issues within the school curriculum and develop content.
